Satellite for research of ice earth's surface to be launched from Baikonur

The European Space Agency (ESA) informed of readiness of the launch of the most complex satellites to research ice surface of the planet, the agency reports citing information portal UPI.com.

Almaty. February 16. Kazakhstan Today - The European Space Agency (ESA) informed of readiness of the launch of the most complex satellites to research ice surface of the planet, the agency reports citing information portal UPI.com.

It is planned that CryoSat satellite will be launched on February 25 from the cosmodrome Baikonur and put into orbit at the height of 435 kilometers over the Earth.

"This satellite will be the third satellite of the series of the Earth Explorer satellites launched by the European Space Agency. Two of them were launched in March and November, 2009. The first attempt of use of similar systems was made in 2005, but the satellite was lost as a result of unsuccessful launch."
