Official dealers in Kazakhstan increased sales of new cars by 72%

Almaty. June 18. Kazakhstan Today - Following five months of 2013 authorized dealers of Kazakhstan increased sales of new cars by 72%, to 54,342 units (in the same period last year - 31,535 units), Kazakhstan Today reports.

"The results of new vehicle sales by official dealers in Kazakhstan in May 2013 are 13,290 units (against 8369 units in the same period in 2012, an increase by 59%), and since the beginning of the year the figure was 54,342 units (previous year same period - 31,535 units, an increase by 72%). Compared with the previous month of the year has not changed significantly," the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business informed.

In addition, according to the association, Kazakhstan persistently promoting its exports to Russia - in May it was reported that the first batch of cars of Kazakh production passed the homologation procedure in the Russian certification body. At the same time Russia is experiencing hard times on the basis of reduction in demand for new cars, sales drop by 12% compared to the same period last year. Although the level of consumption of new cars in Russia is still higher than in Kazakhstan, in Russia every month 158 cars are sold per 100 thousand people, we have such a figure barely reached 83 cars (in Germany the figure is 428 new cars per month). Thus, the growth potential of the Kazakhstan market remains high.

As noted in the association, the share of imports of vehicles sold in May 2013 was 80%, while the share of domestic car assembly - 20% (10,661 units and 2,629 units, respectively).

On the first line of the importing countries - Russia with a share of 53.3% in May (-0.5% compared to April), the Japanese manufacturers (10%) confident consolidated position above products UZ-Daewoo (7,4%). United Kingdom (3.7%), increased its stake in the presence of 4-fold compared with May last year, and the products of South Korea (2.2%) remains almost unchanged. In general, in May 2013 significantly increased the proportion of sales of new cars imported from Japan.

Domestic manufacturers of Kazakhstan are the second highest proportion of quantitative presence in the domestic market.
