Oil quality delivered from CIS countries will improve - forecast IEA

Almaty. September 14. Kazakhstan Today - Quality of oil delivered from CIS countries will improve in the nearest five years (till 2011), the experts of the International Energy Agency (IEA) stated in the report, Kazakhstan Today reports.

According to IEA forecast, specific density of oil delivered from CIS states will increase from 33.7 up to 34.3 degrees by API scale, sulfur content will decrease from 1.28 % to 1.15 %.

For the period of 2006 till 2011 oil recovery in the world will increase by approximately 9.6 million barrels a day. Thus, 36 % of expected increase in oil will be provided by the Middle East countries. At the same time during the period till 2011 all oil in the world market will become "less heavy", that is oil density by API scale on average will decrease from 32.7 up to 32.5 degrees. Oil will become "less sour and sweeter", that is sulfur content will decrease from 1.18 % to 1.16 %, IEA experts consider.
