Kazakhstan, Jordan signed a number of intergovernmental agreements

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, and the Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Samir Zaid al-Rifai, signed a number of intergovernmental agreements today during a meeting in Astana, the agency reports.

The Responsible Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Rapil Zhoshibaev, and the Minister of Industry and Trade of Jordan, Amer Al-Hadidi, signed an intergovernmental agreement about waiving of visa requirements of holders of diplomatic and service passports.

Amer Al-Hadidi signed the agreement with the Responsible Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Evgeny Aman, and the plan of strategic cooperation measures 'Kazakhstan - Jordan'. The Responsible Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, Bolat Sadykov, and the Minister of Industry and Trade of Jordan signed an intergovernmental cooperation agreement in the field of public health services and medical science.

"The officials, during the negotiations, paid much attention to strengthening of cooperation in various spheres: economy, trade, investments, and agriculture."

According to the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, in 2008, goods turnover between Kazakhstan and Jordan reached $75 million: export - 74.1 million, import - $0.9 million. In 2009, goods turnover between two countries reached $30.6 million, including $30.3 million - export, import - $0.3 million, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan press service informs.
