CSTO, OSCE discussed rendering assistance to Tajikistan in development of national boundary strategy

The question of rendering help to Tajikistan in development national boundary strategy was discussed at the meeting of the CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha and OSCE Center Director Herbert Zalber taken place on Friday in Moscow, the agency reports referring to the information agency Asia Plus.

Dushanbe. April 22. Kazakhstan Today - The question of rendering help to Tajikistan in development national boundary strategy was discussed at the meeting of the CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha and OSCE Center Director Herbert Zalber taken place on Friday in Moscow, the agency reports referring to the information agency Asia Plus.

According to the press service of the CSTO secretariat, the parties discussed possibilities of technical maintenance of boundary and customs check points on the Tajik-Afghani border.

During the meeting N. Bordyuzha and Zalber discussed the issues of maintenance of boundary security in the Central-Asian region, in particular, strengthening of the borders between the Central Asian states and Afghanistan, as well as the questions of counteraction to Afghani drug trafficking.

During the meeting N. Bordyuzha and Zalber considered the issue of preparation of Afghani narcotics policemen, including in the CSTO educational institution - Russian Institute of Improvement of Professional Skills of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Following the results of the meeting the parties have planned the plan of mutual contacts and further actions on expansion of cooperation of CSTO and OSCE in the Central-Asian and Afghani directions, having agreed on further discussion of the above-mentioned issues at the expert level.
