Taraz. September 5. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakh customs officers seized 190 kilograms of heroin, the press service for the customs control department in Zhambyl region reported on Wednesday.

"On September 4, 2012, around 3 p.m. the customs officers stopped a DAF brand car with the state number KGDH and trailer 6668, which was going from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan, " the press service said.

During the inspecting and vetting process in the body of the vehicle motor under the top casing in plastic bags, reminiscent of bricks, clay-colored substance is detected with a specific smell.

Customs officers using search dogs, made a preliminary finding that the substance is a drug. Currently the results of the appointed forensic chemical examination are expected. However, as predicted by experienced customs officers, the detected substance weighing about 190 kilograms is heroin.

"It will be no surprise, according to the volume and packing, if the drug is produced in Afghanistan and goes to Europe. Taking into account the price of Afghan heroin to $ 1 million per kilo, the price of the consignment of hard drugs is to about $ 190 million. 1 gram of heroin kills 3 people. You can calculate, how many addicts are saved from such a deadly cargo," the customs officers said.

At present, the detained drugs are under investigation activities.

105 kilograms of heroin were seized of trafficking in Kazakhstan in 2011.
