President orders development plan for crypto industry in Kazakhstan

At a working meeting on the implementation of the Digital Qazaqstan project, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set a task to prepare a development plan for Kazakhstan’s crypto industry, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Akorda press service.
He pointed out the strategic importance of launching two supercomputers, saying that this step will strengthen the country’s technological sovereignty.
The Head of State also highlighted the need to clearly assign responsibility for data management. He stressed that the heads of all government agencies must bear personal responsibility for the quality of data. Building a comprehensive national data management system, Tokayev said, will be a significant step toward recognizing data as an economic asset.
The President raised the issue of developing the crypto industry. It was noted that legislative changes aimed at creating a full-fledged regulatory framework in this sector will come into force in May of this year.
The President instructed financial regulators, together with the Government and law enforcement agencies, to compile a plan for the development of the digital assets industry that ensures financial stability while effectively countering fraud and illegal capital outflows.
In addition, the Head of State stressed the importance of maintaining confidentiality and preventing any unauthorized access to personal information, noting that each data leak seriously undermines public trust in the state.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that if citizens support the draft of the new Constitution, the protection of personal data will become a constitutional obligation.
Those who presented reports at the meeting, were Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan madiyev, Minister of Education Zhuldyz Suleimenova, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Finance Madi Takiyev, Minister of Industry and Construction Yerssaiyn Nagaspayev, and Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Lithuanian cooperation, both in a bilateral format and on various international platforms. Particular attention was paid to expanding trade and economic ties, as well as to enhancing cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics.
Minister Kosherbayev noted that Lithuania is an important partner for Kazakhstan in the Baltic region and expressed confidence in the further development of mutually beneficial and constructive cooperation with Vilnius.
Ambassador Navikas expressed appreciation for the consistent support of his mission and stated his readiness to continue collaboration between the two countries.

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš held narrow-format talks in the Akorda, Qazinform News Agency reports.
AWelcoming the Czech Prime Minister, President Tokayev emphasized that Babiš is respected in Kazakhstan as a political figure renowned not only in the Czech Republic but across Europe. He highlighted the close and friendly relations between the two countries, noting the successful development of trade ties and the importance of cooperation within major international organizations. Tokayev also expressed gratitude for the presence of a Czech business delegation, following a successful business forum held in Astana, according to the press service of Akorda.
Prime Minister Babiš thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome and praised Kazakhstan’s achievements in various fields. He described Kazakhstan as an important state in Central Asia, congratulated the country on adopting a new Constitution, and recalled his personal connection to Kazakhstan dating back to his early career.
I have always dreamed of visiting Kazakhstan, as after graduating from university in 1978, I worked in a department that cooperated with Shymkent and Zhambyl (Taraz)," the Czech Prime Minister said.
Babiš underscored Kazakhstan’s significance in the energy sector as the world’s largest uranium producer and expressed interest in concluding agreements in the sector. He also commended Kazakhstan’s progress in artificial intelligence and stressed the importance of further developing bilateral relations.

Kazakhstan and Busan Join Forces in Innovation, Logistics, and AI

The Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Busan, Aslan Askar, held a meeting with the Vice Mayor of Busan for Future Innovation, Dr. Son Hee-yeop, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation in the transport and logistics sector as well as in IT. Particular attention was paid to linking Kazakhstan’s logistics capacities in Lianyungang and Xi’an with the port infrastructure of Busan in order to advance the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor). The sides also discussed technological partnership, including the establishment of joint laboratories in the field of artificial intelligence and strengthening ties between the innovation clusters "Astana Hub" and "Centum 2."
In addition, issues related to expanding air connectivity and enhancing cooperation in medical tourism and education were reviewed. The Vice Mayor informed about the introduction of the new visa system "City Visa Busan," aimed at supporting Kazakhstani students and professionals.
In the context of preparations for the upcoming State Visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Republic of Korea in September 2026, the parties confirmed their readiness to hold a large-scale Kazakhstan-Korea business forum with the active participation of Busan’s business community.

Astana and Singapore Discuss Prospects for Deepening Bilateral Cooperation During Political Consultations

The fifth round of Kazakhstan-Singapore political consultations was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakayev and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore Kevin Cheok, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the consultations, a substantive exchange of views was held on the current state and prospects of Kazakhstan-Singapore cooperation. The parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening political dialogue, expanding the legal and treaty framework, and intensifying contacts at the highest and high levels.
Priority attention was given to enhancing trade, economic, and investment cooperation. It was noted that according to the results of 2025, bilateral trade had reached 954.4 million US dollars, demonstrating steady positive growth. Significant potential was emphasized for deepening partnership in finance, digitalization, smart city development, the green economy, transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as in education and innovation.
Deputy Foreign Minister Bakayev particularly highlighted the significance of Kazakhstan’s transit and logistics potential, noting its capacity to provide Singaporean businesses with safe, efficient, and commercially attractive routes to European and global markets.
In addition, the parties exchanged assessments on current international and regional agenda issues, as well as cooperation within the UN and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Following the consultations, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue regular political dialogue and further progressive development of bilateral cooperation.

Kazakhstan has decided to join the Abraham Accords. This gesture symbolizes our readiness and intention to contribute to the normalization of relations between Middle Eastern countries and Israel. Today we will discuss many issues relating to our economic ties, as their potential is extremely vast," President Tokayev stated.
In turn, President Herzog underlined that it is a huge honor for him to be at the Aqorda, following in the footsteps of his father, Chaim Herzog, who visited Kazakhstan in 1993.
