President receives Prosecutor General Gizat Nurdauletov
Emphasizing the importance of ensuring the rule of law in all spheres of society, President Tokayev gave Prosecutor General Nurdauletov a number of instructions.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report on the state of law and order in the country, as well as on the results of the prosecutor’s office’s work for the 1st quarter of 2021, the Akorda press service said.
The Prosecutor General informed the Head of State about the outcomes of the first stage of the criminal process’s transition to a three-tier model. According to Gizat Nurdauletov, following the approval of the key decisions of the pre-trial investigation bodies by the prosecutors, the number of violations of the constitutional rights of citizens have been decreased by 33 %.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was told about the execution of instructions protecting entrepreneurs from illegal actions of state bodies, reorienting the supervision of the prosecutor’s office effectively solve problems that business face with. According to the Prosecutor General, since the beginning of 2021, the rights of 22 thousand entrepreneurs have been protected, while 357 illegal inspections and 56 acts of state bodies have been canceled.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev has appointed a representative for negotiations with the United States, Qazinform News Agency learnt from the Akorda press service.
The Head of State decreed to entrust Yerzhan Kazykhan, Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva (Switzerland), with the duties of the President’s Representative in the negotiation process with the United States of America on key issues of bilateral cooperation.
He was born on August 21, 1964. He graduated from the Leningrad State University, Diplomatic Academy of the USSR Foreign Ministry. Since 2025 has been acting as Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

Astana and Ljubljana Strengthen Twinning Ties

Altai Abibullayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Slovenia, discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation at the inter-municipal and regional levels at a meeting with the leadership of the Ljubljana City Hall, proposing to establish twinning relations between the capitals Astana and Ljubljana. These ties are considered as an important platform for the exchange of experience in urban management, the implementation of joint projects and the strengthening of mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The Slovenian side expressed genuine interest in the pace of Astana's development, the capital's current position in the Oxford Economics 2025 Index, as well as the priorities set by the President of Kazakhstan on December 24, 2025 for the capital of Kazakhstan and the implementation of the initiative on Astana Smart City.
Special attention was paid by the parties to the exchange of experience in urban planning, municipal development and solving problems of urban communication, environmental protection, safety of citizens, the role of AI in the development of urban infrastructure, metropolitan traffic and attracting foreign tourists and investments.
In preparation for the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Slovenia, the parties discussed initiatives to implement a number of joint cultural events, days of Kazakhstan in Ljubljana and further strengthen long-term partnership and friendship between our states and their capitals.
