CICMA headquarters to be relocated from Almaty to Astana

The headquarters of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICMA) will be relocated from Almaty to Astana. The protocol will be signed during the third CICMA Ministerial meeting, which will take place in Almaty on August 25. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, informed on Monday during weekly briefing, the agency reports.

Astana. August 19. Kazakhstan Today - The headquarters of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICMA) will be relocated from Almaty to Astana. The protocol will be signed during the third CICMA Ministerial meeting, which will take place in Almaty on August 25. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, informed on Monday during weekly briefing, the agency reports.

"CICMA member states will sign the Protocol on introduction of amendments to the agreement on CICMA secretariat, providing relocation of the headquarters from Almaty to Astana to arrange more favorable conditions for work of the secretariat with diplomatic missions and the offices of the international organizations accredited in Kazakhstan," Y. Ashikbayev informed.

"According to the agenda, the Convention on Legal Capacity, Privileges and Immunities of the CICMA Secretariat and its personnel and two final documents: Declaration of the third ministerial meeting - CICMA Progress in the field of realization of measures of trust and Decisions of the ministerial meeting are planned to be accepted during the meeting," Y. Ashikbayev noted.
