Grand Prix Winner of the Astana Piano Passion to Give a Recital at the Astana Opera

The recital of the Grand Prix winner of the Astana Piano Passion competition, talented young pianist Zhuldyz Yerzhenis, will take place on June 25 at the Astana Opera. The promising musician will perform at the Kulyash Baiseitova Chamber Hall with the support of the management of the capital’s opera house, Astana Opera press office reports.
As a reminder, in November 2022, Zhuldyz Yerzhenis won the main prize at the Republican Competition for Young Pianists Astana Piano Passion, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The right to perform a recital Ms. Yerzhenis received as an award presented by the Astana Opera. It is important to emphasize that supporting creative youth of the country is one of the most important areas of the opera house’s lines of work.
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to perform at the capital’s prestigious stage venue, because a recital is an important stage of development for the creative formation of an artist. This is a kind of a result of your work, a mirror of your soul. In the process of preparation, I work a lot on the nuances and I want my performance and interpretation to reach the hearts of the listeners, so that each of them feels all the beauty and depth of Her Majesty Music," Zhuldyz Yerzhenis says.
It should be noted that the young pianist first felt love for high art in childhood. When she was 10 years old, she performed Haydn’s piano concerto with the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Zhambyl Kazakh State Philharmonic. Her talent and abilities surprised not only her teachers, but also many music critics. A clear confirmation of this is the fact that the talented pianist has repeatedly become a laureate of republican and international competitions.
To be more precise, in 2019, Zhuldyz Yerzhenis took part in the 20th Anniversary International Nutcracker TV Competition of the Kultura TV channel in Moscow. In 2022, she received the Grand Prix and an award for the best performer of Prokofiev’s works at the 12th Prokofiev International Competition in Yekaterinburg, conducted online. In the same year, she became the winner of the 1st prize at the Astana-Merei International Competition and also won the main prize at the Republican Television Competition dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabaiuly. And last year, having won the main prize at the Astana Piano Passion competition, despite her young age, Zhuldyz once again confirmed her status as a competitive musician.
It bears emphasis that Astana is her hometown. Zhuldyz was born on June 19, 2007, in the capital of our country. This year she graduated from the 9th grade of the Akhmet Zhubanov Republican Kazakh Specialized Music Boarding School for Gifted Children in Almaty.
I am inspired by music, cinema, outstanding personalities, their deeds and achievements. My family and my teacher Gulnara Zhakeyeva help me achieve my goals. My grandmother especially supports me and always finds the right words before an important performance. Preparation for the upcoming concert lasted about six months, and we chose the program together with my teacher. I wanted to include precisely those works that reveal my personality. Each composition differs from others in style, era, structure and meaning. In addition, this year is the 150th anniversary of my favorite composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, so his illustrious music will certainly be featured at this musical evening," the young pianist concluded.
In addition to Rachmaninoff’s works, the performer will present Toccata, Allemande from Bach’s Partita No. 6 in E minor, Liszt’s Transcendental Etude No. 10 in F minor and concert etude Waldesrauschen. The program will also include Schumann’s Papillons, Ravel’s Jeux d’Eau and Tchaikovsky’s Méditation op.72 No.5. There is no doubt that the beautiful melodies chosen by Zhuldyz will touch the listeners’ hearts and make an unforgettable impression on them.

Government Apparatus takes part in Astana city-wide clean-up day

The Government and employees of the Government Apparatus of Kazakhstan took part in the city clean-up day, which took place within the framework of the republican ecological action ‘Taza Kazakhstan’ initiated by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, primeminister.kz reports.
Employees of the Government Apparatus headed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov planted about 150 saplings, including oak, birch, spruce, larch and others on the territory of EXPO.
Over 4.6 thousand tonnes of rubbish were removed during the 3 weeks of the environmental action. Over 50 thousand trees were planted in Astana. In total, about 1.1 million green plants are planned to be planted in the capital this year.

700 pheasants released into Astana’s green belt territory

LLP Astana Ormany released 700 pheasants into the territory of ‘green belt’ of Astana, Kazinform News Agency learned from the local mayor's office.
The ‘green belt’ around the Kazakh capital became a home for various animals and bords, like hares, foxes, wolf cubs, partridges, hazelhens, and pheasants.
In 2024, we plan to release 1,800 pheasants into the wild. 700 birds have already been released, another 150 will be released in June, and 950 more - in September," local ecology official Azamat Zhanatayev says.
The birds are constantly monitored by the foresters of LLP Astana Ormany and are additionally fed in winter period.

Over 1,000 measles cases recorded in Astana since beginning of year
In three months of this year, the Kazakh capital recorded 1,063 measles cases, including 734 in children under 14, chief medical officer of Astana Sarkhat Beissenova said, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to Beissenova, 84% of those infected are unvaccinated, of whom 58% did not undergo vaccination and 36.5% have the immunization status unknown.
She went on to add that a total of 114,464 people or 94.6% of the eligible population have been vaccinated as part of additional mass immunization and catch-up immunization since November last year.
The anti-epidemic measures taken led to measles cases reducing by 1.4 times in March compared to January, when the peak of measles cases was recorded, and by 1.5 times among children aged 1-4, she said.

At the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Plovdiv, the official opening of the thematic photo exhibition "Unexplored Kazakhstan" dedicated to the nature and tourism potential of our country took place on the Central Square of the city. The event was attended by the leadership of the city and the region, representatives of the local intelligentsia, the Kazakh diaspora, the Bulgarian public and the media, press service of the Kazakh MFA reports.
In his welcoming speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria Viktor Temirbayev stressed that Kazakhstan is a country with an extremely rich history and culture, located in the heart of Eurasia, at the crossroads of the world's oldest civilizations, at the intersection of transport arteries, economic and social, cultural and ideological ties between East and West, South and North, between Europe and Asia. The Kazakh diplomat noted that all this served as a powerful foundation in the formation of modern Kazakhstan as a strong, independent and dynamically developing state.
In his welcoming speech, Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv Plamen Panov highlighted the achievements in the development of Kazakhstan, noted the high level of bilateral relations. In addition, the Deputy Mayor spoke highly about the fascinating nature of Kazakhstan.

Over 300 babies born in flood-stricken areas in Kazakhstan
325 babies were born in the regions of Kazakhstan that declared recently a local state of emergency due to flooding. 387 pregnant women are under the doctor’s care, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Most babies were born in Kostanay, Aktobe and West Kazakhstan regions since the beginning of the floods, Aigerim Urazaliyeva, the Kazakh Healthcare Ministry’s official spokesperson, said.
5,035 children from flood-hit regions are staying at temporary shelters of which 62 were taken to hospitals.
She noted over 1,000 people sought psychological assistance.
7,617 flood victims have chronic diseases. All of them are monitored by health workers, she added.
