Kazakhtelecom blockade work of Kazakhstan Today agency

Almaty. June 1. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhtelecom Company has been blocking the work of the news agency Kazakhstan Today. "Since Saturday afternoon Kazakhtelecom Company started to block going through of IP-packages from the networks belonging to Alma-media, on the technical platform of which DNS-servers of the news agency are located. Therefore, Kazakhtelecom users have no opportunity to access Kazakhstan Today site," technical service of Alma-media explained.

Kazakhstan center of network information suspended support of the domain name Caravan.kz, having blocked the passage of e-mail to subscribers of Kazakhstan Today," the interlocutor added.

"The measure is dubious from the point of view of its legality as Kaznic refers to the decision of the specialized inter district economic court of Almaty, which does not mention closing of the domain," the lawyers of the publishing house commented to the agency.

The journalists Kazakhstan Today have not been able to access the Internet-sites of the state bodies of the Republic, in particular, the official site of the President (www.akorda.kz), the government (government.kz), the State Office of Public Prosecutor (procuror.kz) and others for almost a week.

The readers have no opportunity in due time to get acquainted with the information provided by the agency on the site www.kz-today.kz. Thus, the site is inaccessible only to those who use Kazakhtelecom. Meanwhile, the press service of Kazakhtelecom has been categorically denying its implication for the last three days. It is not possible to contact the company's management.
