Main crew of Soyuz TMA-11 approved

The main crew of the expedition Soyuz TMA-11 was approved at the session of the state commission, the agency reports.

Baikonur. October 10. Kazakhstan Today - The main crew of the expedition Soyuz TMA-11 was approved at the session of the state commission, the agency reports. The structure of the main crew includes: commander of the space rocket Soyuz TMA-11 Jury Malenchenko (Russia), commander of the International space station Peggy Whitson (USA), the participant of the space flight sheikh Muszafar Shukor (Malaysia). The duplicating crew has included: the commander of the space ship Salijan Sharipov (Russia), flight engineer - Edward Michael Fink (USA), the participant of the flight Faiz bin Halid (Malaysia).

After the session of state commission traditional pre-flight press conference of the crew took place. The crewmembers expressed confidence in their strength and confirmed readiness to perform complex program of the flight.

Evening time of the flight of this crew differs from the previous morning flight; the schedule of pre-flight preparation has changed as well. On Tuesday was the day of cosmonauts' preparation, and today, October 10, in the afternoon, 6 hours prior to launch, the crews will go to platform 254 to put on their space suits and boarding the spacecraft.

The launch of Soyuz-FG with the piloted ship Soyuz TMA-11 with the crew of the 16th basic expedition and the 13th expedition of visiting International space station has been planned from platform №1 of the cosmodrome on October 10 at 19.22 by Astana time (17.22 Moscow time).
