Kazakhstan to export caviar under state brand

Kazakhstan is launching the state brand for exclusive sale of sturgeon caviar within the international quotas, the agency reports citing the English edition Telegraph.co.uk.

Almaty. October 5. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan is launching the state brand for exclusive sale of sturgeon caviar within the international quotas, the agency reports citing the English edition Telegraph.co.uk.

"The brand will be called 'Zhayiyk and its packaging will be so quality that it will be hard for smugglers to produce a fraud product."

The mayor of the Atyrau area, Bergey Ryskaliev, whose administration will supervise state monopoly, says that he hopes to return prestige of the city-supplier of caviar.

Kazakhstan has the right to 13 of 80 tons of export sturgeon until February 28 2011. The rest is distributed between Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
