BP broken well is 'dead'
Almaty. September 20. Kazakhstan Today - The broken BP well in the Gulf of Mexico is finally 'dead'. Thad Allen, the US pointman for the government's response to the disaster, informed, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.
"The well has been cemented and does not represent any danger," T. Allen informed.
Experts eliminated oil leak in the broken BP well on August 6. "The works continuing after elimination of the leak were conducted to cement the damaged well and to remove the equipment, which during the accident should have stopped delivery of oil, however it did not happen. Engineers hope that, having studied the equipment taken from water, they will be able to understand what did not allow it to execute its functions."
