Intergovernmental Kazakhstan-Romanian commission on bilateral cooperation session to take place in Bucharest on August 14-15

The seventh session of the Intergovernmental Kazakhstan-Romanian commission on trade and economic and scientific and technical cooperation will be held on August 14-15 in Bucharest, the Ministry of Economics and Budgetary Planning press service informed the agency.

Kazakhstan Today - The seventh session of the Intergovernmental Kazakhstan-Romanian commission on trade and economic and scientific and technical cooperation will be held on August 14-15 in Bucharest, the Ministry of Economics and Budgetary Planning press service informed the agency.

Kazakhstan Vice Minister of Economy and Budgetary Planning Galymzhan Pirmatov, will preside from Kazakhstan party. The Romanian side of the commission will be headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics and Finance.

"The parties will discuss perspective directions of the Kazakhstan-Romanian cooperation, in particular, trade and economic cooperation, bilateral cooperation in legal sphere, energy, international motor transport, education, science and tourism," the press service informs.

The parties will also discuss the projects of documents planned to be signed during the visit of the Prime Minister of Romania to Kazakhstan, which will take place in September, 2008.

According to statistical data, volume of commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Romania for 2007 made $829.2 million. From 1993 up to 2008 general inflow of foreign investments to the Republic of Kazakhstan has reached almost $69 billion, the Romanian investments into the Kazakhstan economy have made $227.8 million.

15 joint Kazakhstan-Romanian enterprises engaged in mainly in oil-and-gas sector work in Kazakhstan. 5 Kazakhstan-Romanian enterprises working in construction, extraction of resources, trade in furniture, clothes, footwear and medicines spheres work in Romania.
