2072 HIV-infected people registered in Kazakhstan in 2009

2072 HIV-infected people have been registered in Kazakhstan in 2009 as compared to 2318 people in 2008, the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan informed.

Astana. February 10. Kazakhstan Today - 2072 HIV-infected people have been registered in Kazakhstan in 2009 as compared to 2318 people in 2008, the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan informed.

In particular, 28 HIV-infected children under 14 years old were registered in 2009 (in 2008 - 69). As a whole, last year, the number of AIDS patients amounted to 166 cases.

According to the Republican Sanitary Epidemological Station, in 2009, in comparison with 2008, the number of patients with rotavirus enteritis has grown (53.4 %), tongs encephalitis virus (44.1 %), and echinococcus (10.7 %).
