Cold and hot water rose in price in Kazakhstan

The increase in prices for water supply and water management year-by-year has been kept at the high level, the research says.

In Kazakhstan, hot water has increased in price by 6.1% over the year, and for cold water - by 3.7%. Also, the population pays by 2.5% more for sanitation, Ranking.kz reports.

Following August, in the country cold water cost 74.3 tenges per cubic meter on average, that is by 3.7% more than that of the previous year. The biggest prices for cold water were observed in Atyrau (113.5 tenges per cubic meter) and Karaganda (110.3 tenges).

Hot water increased by 6.1% year-to-year and reached 235.2 tenges per cubic meter. The biggest prices were observed in Almaty (475.2 tenges por cubic meter) and Kostanay (379.9 tenges per cubic meter).

Services for water management reached 48 tenges per cubic meter by September - that is by 2.5% more than in 2017. The biggest prices were seen in Karaganda (96.4 tenges per cubic meter) and Kostanay (80.4 tenges per cubic meter).

The increase in prices for water supply and water management year-by-year has been kept at the high level, the research says. For instance, in the past year, cold water showed an increase year-to-year by 6.5%, hot water - by 7.4%, and sanitation - by 13.2%.

We note following Kazakhstan's seven months water management companies have supplied 604.2 million cubic meters of drinkable water, by 1% less than in the previous year.

The biggest volumes of water supplied occurred in Almaty (111.4 million cubic meters, by 7.5% more than a year ago), Karaganda region (92.3 million cubic meters, by 2.3% less than in the previous year), and in East Kazakhstan region (49.9 cubic meters, a 3.8% increase over the year).
