EADB chairman made speech at parliamentary session in Federation Council devoted to economic integration of CIS countries

The chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank (ЕADB) Igor Finogenov took part in the parliamentary session - Economic integration: problems, prospects, legal maintenance," taken place in the Council of the Russian Federations, the EADB press release widespread on Thursday stated.

According to the EADB press service, the EADB chairman in his speech emphasized that the bank has been founded by the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan as a finance instrument working for strengthening economic integration on the postSoviet space. Long-term and capital-intensive projects, which coincide with the priority directions of cooperation formulated by the chairmen of the Commonwealth states in the concept of further CIS development, are the focus of attention of EADB.

"The bank is ready to join the development of the strategy of CIS economic development and the program of development of economic relations of Russia and the CIS countries," I. Finogenov noted.

He informed the participants of the parliamentary session that Tajikistan and Belarus have begun the interstate procedures necessary for registration of the membership in the bank. Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have been carrying out the interdepartmental coordination of the questions of introduction to EADB.

EADB chairman noted that the bank actively cooperates with the Russian regions to jointly select the projects, realization of which will allow overcoming infrastructural restrictions and increasing potential of trans boundary cooperation with the neighboring countries.

I. Finogenov reminded that such agreements were signed by the bank with the Republic Tatarstan, Novosibirsk oblast, and Hanty-Mansiysk autonomous region. EADB share of participation in the projects in these regions makes $ 445 million.

The Eurasian Development Bank is the international financial organization founded by Russia and Kazakhstan in January, 2006 with the objective to assist development of the market economy of the states-participants, their stable economic growth and expansion of mutual trade and economic relations. The initiative of the bank creation belongs to the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The authorized EADB capital makes $1.5 billion.
