Koran of XVIII century found in South Kazakhstan oblast - telechannel

The ancient Koran has been found in the village Sayram of the South Kazakhstan oblast, the agency reports referring to the telechannel Otrar.

Shymkent. July 30. Kazakhstan Today - The ancient Koran has been found in the village Sayram of the South Kazakhstan oblast, the agency reports referring to the telechannel Otrar.

Director of Sayram historical museum, Mirahmat Mirhaydarov, informed journalists on the circumstances of how the Koran was found. "An inhabitant of our village brought the book to us. He had found the book when he was taking down his house. The book was hidden in the wall," M. Mirhaydarov said.

Director of the museum considers that the Koran was written approximately in the 30th of XVIII century. "We can assume that the book was written by the local calligrapher in XVIII century judging by the paper and style of writing," he said.

Now the Professor, M. Mirhaydarov, is finishing bibliographic work of the Koran and soon the book will be exhibited in the museum.

Sayram museum has more than six thousand exhibits.
