"According to the Code of Health and Public Health Services of the Republic of Kazakhstan of September, 18, 2009, Kazakhstan government decrees the applied list of infectious diseases, when the use of quarantine to limit the spread of contagious diseases is introduced.

According to the decree, "the list of infectious diseases includes: plague, cholera, yellow fever, serious acute respiratory syndrome, virus hemorrhagic fevers, virus hepatitis transmitted by the faecal-oral route, typhoparatyphoid diseases, salmonellas, dysentery, other acute intestinal infections, pandemic flu (A (H1N1), bird's flu and other kinds), air-drop infections".

The decree will come into force after ten calendar days after its first official publication.
