Arrears on utility bills in Kazakhstan is 7.9 billion

Astana. September 5. Kazakhstan Today - Arrears on utility bills in Kazakhstan on August 27, is 7.9 billion tenge, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"As of August 27 this year, accounts receivable is 7.9 billion tenge. Overall reduction in arrears for the period from April 19, 2011 was 11.3%. This index had a negative impact of the growth of debt in Almaty by 1.4 billion tenge, or by 80.2%", Serik Nokin, Chairman of the Agency for Construction and Housing said on Tuesday during the selector government meeting.

Also insufficient reduction of accounts receivable, according to S. Nokin, is observed in Astana (-13.1%), the South-Kazakhstan (-19.2%), Kostanay (-17.7%) and Almaty (-27, 2%) regions.

"Akimats have to promote their work for reducing the receivable", the head of the agency said.

He also reminded that, in accordance with the request of Prime Minister Karim Massimov akimats should reduce receivables by 50%. "This has been achieved only in Akmola (-84.7%), Aktobe (-62.6%), Zhambyl (-61.4%), and Karaganda (-59.2%) regions", S. Nokin concluded.
