Air force new commander-in-chief appointed
Astana. September 18. Kazakhstan Today - The new air force commander-in-chief of the Armed forces of Kazakhstan has been appointed. According to the President's decree, Alexander Sorokin has been appointed to this post, the agency reports referring to official mass media.
According to the state mass media, Kopen Akhmadiyev has been released from the post of the air force commander-in-chief.
The leader of the state signed the decree on release of Askar Myrzakhmetov from the post of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. A. Myrzakhmetov has been dismissed from the post of the Ambassador in connection with transition to the other work. As it was informed earlier, he was approved by the decision of the government for the post of the Chairman of the social-entrepreneurial corporation Ontustik.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
