Sayga death toll in Western Kazakhstan area reached 12 thousand

Uralsk. May 27. Kazakhstan Today - Sayga death toll in the Zhanibek area of the Western Kazakhstan area has grown up to 12 thousand. Director of Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision of the Western Kazakhstan area, Serikbay Imankulov, informed the agency's correspondent.

"Mass death of the animals occurred in the territory within a radius of 40-50 kilometers. Sayga death toll has reached about 12 thousand heads," S. Imankulov informed.

To find out the reasons of death, the experts of the state sanitary supervision of the area carried out bacteriological, radiological and chemical tests and revealed that the animals died of pasteurellosis.

At the moment, all domestic animals in the Zhanibek area are being vaccinated.
